Constipated?

Staying in the bathroom too long?

Constipated? Constipation has many root causes, is best to examine the situation to get to the root cause. Here are some tips to address the root causes:

1. Is the diet rich in fiber? No, add more fiber rich foods to bind and excrete waste like vegetables, fruits, and whole grains. Average suggested daily fiber for a healthy individual is 28 grams.

2. Is your gallbladder producing enough bile to absorb fats, excrete and lubricate waste? Use foods that will open the common bile duct and are rich in choline (eggs, liver, quinoa), omega 3 fatty acids, and mono unsaturated fatty acids like olive oil. When my gallbladder is bit slow, I make a hot drink of 2-3 oz. pure apple juice only (no added sugar or preservatives), 4-6 oz. hot water, 1/2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with mother (ACV). Mix well and drink right away. Make sure to rinse with plenty of water to remove the acid from the teeth. Take this drink first thing in the morning. My suggestion is for you to read the article about the gallbladder in this blog in order to stay educated.

3. Are you hydrating daily? No, well, we humans are made out of 62% water. Water is necessary for many metabolic reactions, healing and digestion. Please drink more water throughout the day to stay hydrated.

4. Use a combination of B6 and Mg, this combination will help you digest fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. Make sure to take the recommended amount B6 and Mg for your age and gender.
